Best Laid Plans by Jo Lauer is a MUST read! From beginning to end, this book is hard to put down. So many suspense-filled pages, twists and turns. Just when you think the characters are out of the woods...NOPE! Highly recommend this to take on a vacation, to the beach, or even for a weekend read! Great job, Jo!
There is mystery, danger, and suspense, but more than that, these are women who learn to love themselves. Coming from prison and former lives that were locked in terror and insecurity, one by one, as they join together, each finds inner strength, a new understanding of her own singularity. Who is plotting for the failure of the recovery house? It takes wit and tenacity to continue the project as fear is thrown down across their every step. This is indeed a cozy read and one you will enjoy.

I could hardly put this book down. It was a wonderful debut, and left me wanting more from the author.
This book is fun. The characters are engaging with good developement. I feel like I know them and find I want to know them better. The mystery unfolds at the perfect pace. It is a charming story that I enjoyed a lot.
A charming little book.
This is a fun caper in which justice prevails, although the justice system might disapprove. The lovable motley crew of women who come together out of unusual circumstances create a life together all while mysterious events threaten to take it all away. Will they or won't they realize their dream home? This fast paced novel kept me turning the page eager to see what would happen next.
